I notice that the gift-wrapping (scaffolding) is finally being removed from the Pantworks building in St Nicholas Lane.

At the southern end of the building there is a concrete shield shape stuck to the wall - on closer inspection it appears to be a huge "contemporary" bat box to match the huge "contemporary" building that it is adhered to. But it is also possible that, due to climate change, we are about to be inundated by Livingstone's fruit bats!
.
Being cynical, I imagine it has been placed there as either part of the s106 agreement (they may have displaced a colony of bats from the old Baxter's building) or it is in anticipation of the bats that are currently being displaced from the Lewes House site. Either way, it's massive!

Now the scaffs are off we can marvel at the truly shoddy workmanship. Look closely and I dare you to spot a straight edge of proper piece of brickwork. As its a glorified pile of plywood sheds I expect half of it to fall down before any bats take residence. I did notice quite a few across the Lewes House site last night...

Yes it is a rather curvy contemporary structure but, as the planet warms, there is a chance that it will buckle into straight lines (or spontaneously combust)!
