Has anyone been to eat at the kings Head since it reopened? I've given it a couple of goes and the food is quite good but it's well over priced. The real issue for me though was the noise! - It just seemed like the young bar staff had their mates over whilst the owners were not around and i'm paying thirty quid a head to listen to loads of their shrieking! Not impressed... and I was freezing - sat opposite the door to the garden and it was open shut open shut...

Don't like it at all, agreed young staff all chatting, felt like a shame to interrupt them to order a drink!
15 mins later we were on our way down to The Snowdrop.

Staff were ok when we went in but agree that while the food was ok - it wasn't worth the 100% more in price than you pay in the Snowdrop + in the Snowdrop you get the added luxury of decent beer and being able to remove your overcoat. The Kings Head was freezing when I was in there

True kevsy, but the Snowdrop was bloody cold the other night - food as good as usual, drink ditto, but heating... none.

I agree with Shirley, I think the food is good, but 1) overpriced and 2) very little choice. Also, I went with the lovely burger in mind that Viva Lewes printed on their magazine, but I'm afraid, no burger was on the menu.
To pay that money, I'd rather drive to the Jolly Sportsman and have the great food and accompanied but great environment.

A lick of paint only lasts so long.
Look at the blokes other pub in hove, struggling!
They will be out of there soon enough! No one would pay them prices in London let alone Lewes.

The external paint colour is awful, but nowhere near as bad as the new contemporary pub sign (depicting green sperm climbing skywards).
Certainly would not entice me to dine there - yuk.
