They're not 'attack bees', in fact I regularly put my bare hand in the swarm to prove how safe they are. The link I gave is up-to-date - until recently the Council were giving out a deceased beekeeper's number.

I know that swarms are not dangerous, I have stood in the middle of them taking photos of the bees buzzing around me. However, a swarm that has plonked itself on a hedge on a pavement or outside a school gate is somewhat of a hazard. There's always going to be somebody with an allergy, people panicking, and numpties throwing something into the swarm trying to disperse it. I'll be the one with the camera, going in for close-ups!
