Just a heads-up if you enjoy reading about local history and, particularly, our area's industrial heritage.

The deeply researched journals and newsletters from the Sussex Industrial Archaeology Society, beginning in 1970, have all been scanned and stored on-line for us to read, at any time. They appear to be searchable, once loaded into a PDF reader; and the entire archive of the main journal is downloadable in a single, 100MB file, to browse and search without further troubling your Internet line. Most articles are accompanied by detailed bibliographies. In contrast to many historical associations, it seems that the SIAS has opened its publications archive extensively and generously.

It's possible that this is a well-known link, and I have been struthious in not finding it before. Details of membership are also shown below.

We all hope you'll be old enough to get a boyfriend soon, and will have other things on your mind than using daddy's computer when he's asleep. Now go back to bed, good girl.

Thanks for this Castle Gate - this is how the internet really comes into its own. It's like walking round a really good reference library.

The Lewes Priory Trust Event on 11th May looks interesting as well Xplorer1..
One of the 'Events' listed took my attention it was 'Learn the chant (in Latin) and sing in the Priory with the Schola Gregoriana (no previous experience necessary) Join in a monks 'feast'. uuumm I might give it a sniff but I think that singing in Latin might be a bit strong for me.
