Just visited Aqua restaurant and how surprised was I. Fantastic food, thought it was going to be the normal sort of chain offering, but the food was really good. Cocktails need refining but generally well done. If you can keep this quality of food, past the honeymoon period you have a recipe for success. Well Done.

Gregory, have you used Brighton Removals?
If you haven't I would strongly recommend them.

Avoid the fish cakes. All they taste of is lemon. I was hoping for fish.
And the service? Don't get me started. Chaotic.

Not eaten there yet but it does look very good inside. Always seems popular when i go past, it even had a dozen or so people in there for breakfast when i went past a while ago

Are there a couple of weeks ago. Staff v friendly, location great, food pretty dull and worked out quite expensive. personally prefer ASK or Prezzo. Would be good for business functions though. Nothing to offend or get excited about IMO.

Is this the newest restaurant in Lewes?

Actually went a few days ago.
Not bad, but a few negatives
You end up smelling of the grill afterwards, so get ready to spend some time at the dry cleaners after a visit.
The accoustics are poor so it is difficult to hear anything or be heard...
It is fairly expensive
The raised area looks like something out of an airport pub
However, the courgette tempura things were aok..

Wait till they start putting tables on the pavement outside. Then the fun will start.

Personally, I've never bought into the delights of eating outside on the pavement. What makes being choked by traffic fumes during the soup, being bombarded by seagulls during the main course, pestered by beggers during the pudding and starlings and sparrows having a bath in your skinny latte so attractive?

Ref Aqua. Lunch today, suffice it to say that I for one shall not be returning.Overpriced lukewarm food, very noisy, more works canteen than a decent restaurant.

I visited Aqua last night with my kids. Pleasantly surprised. Very attentive staff, good food and a nice vibe. Only negatives were the loudest hand dryer ever in the toilets and a bit more expensive than say ASK. We'll be back.

I've tried turning up twice to eat only to be asked whether I have booked. As I hadn't I was turned away even though the place was obviously about a fifth full. Is it me?
