spoke to a well known local Cllr at the lodge last week and he told me that a well known strip club is coming town. Its a done deal as they need to get in before the planning laws change.

A well known Cllr who sits on planning. A large soon to be empty high street building is to be used. Can't say much more but should be common knowledge soon

What gets me about things like this... is that, I was following the thread about the Rainbow closing down.. and I was making the comment that for better or worse, it seems, according to other comments, the Rainbow provided somewhere where teens used to gather.. some legally entitled to do so but many, I believe, were not..
Where am I going with this? Here we are, planning permission for a strip club, but we are not creating a club, somewhere sound where young people in Lewes can go... that is well managed without being totally repressive because otherwise they wouldn't go... somewhere where young people would be invited to come together also to create a space where they will have to learn to 'take responsibilities for each other' and their actions.. i.e. they could be involved in running it...
So it does get me that a planning permission is given for a strip club by the council rather than thinking positively about the quite large population of young people.

Does anyone know which 'large soon to be empty building' this might be? Would be much better used as the Museum......

Must be talking about the Town Hall. Nothing much goes on there. Might as well be empty. Not very intimate for pole dancing though.
