Walking around the Lewes area this week I have noticed considerable damage, presumably as a result of Storm Katie. The winds didn't keep me awake unlike other storms this winter yet damage seems to have been surprisingly severe in places. I have seen a complete garden shed and contents laying in a heap next to a road, a 50m length of hawthorn hedge completely missing and many trees snapped approx 3m above ground rather than being uprooted. Was it a different type of wind?

It seem 9 out of 10 of these predicted storms / hurricanes / blizzards etc turn out to be either Slightly Windy or A Bit Cold. Sells a lot of newspapers though.
