A friend saw a scuffle on leaving the store and heard after some kid got stabbed. Do downvote me for asking a valid question about the huge police presence in our town though

Sounds nasty, hope the stab victim recovers. A lot of keyboard warriors on this forum who have obviously not been threatened or beaten up before. Interesting to see your reactions if your family member was attacked

From what my colleagues tell me, apparently it happened at the bus stop as they got off the bus. The lad ran into Waitrose for help. It did not happen in our store.......and our Humous is the best around :-)

"Get done and don't run" us Lewes casual lads used to shout out in the early 80's. We took no cr@p from anyone and loved the midnight arrival of the train from Brighton as we were able to engage the so called lads of Newhaven/Seaford who often hid themselves in the train toilets and eventually they stopped using the train. The Lewes riot at the station was another event that brought the youth of Lewes together. Sometimes "you gotta fight for your right to party"

Might suggest that any talk of who did this or who said than and what they think they saw, including names are kept out of this feed.
Maybe well prejudiced any case bought against the attackers if the jury could have seen or read any info prior.
Hope all involved are okay and home safe soon.
Thanks.

@lucy lou: do kindly save your armchair legal advice; it's moronic. You cannot seriously expect people to refrain from public speculation (of a very general kind btw) about the details of a crime. We are not journalists, we are citizens. Naming the potential victim(s) bares no legal ramifications at all, and no-one has made any suggestions about the perpetrators thus far.

Regarding "endoftheouse" and the "Lewes Casuals", I think I was one of the young people from Seaford you smashed about on the train as I came back from my weekend job at a garage in Brighton. You left me with a lifetime's agoraphobia, now mostly under control, a fractured cheekbone, and a shattered distal phalanx bone in my finger from when you slammed a carriage door on my hand having kicked me to the floor, not to mention the times you and your thug colleagues broke my glasses and "taxed" my earnings. You absolute scum.
I became a medical researcher with many published papers to my name particularly in the field of assisting babies born prematurely.

@@pedro, it was almost as disposable as your comment, but at least you had the bravery to use a registered username....oh wait....

I actually tried on a couple of occasions this morning to post a more detailed response on the incident (and the forums reaction to it), but it never got published. There were no swear words, so think I may be having technical issues. I've emailed webbo, so you will hopefully get what you wish for in due course!
