Still haven't seen the spin from Baker and the Libdems or how their candidate who was from Lewes District managed to come 5th in Sussex and 3rd in Lewes. They were nearly 4th in Lewes with the labour guy coming within 20 votes - labour in lewes again haha - things must be bad for them. I am sure they will put out a leaflet with bar charts showing how libdems can't win here etc. I am sure he will slink his way back in in 2015 and even get back his nice ministerial post at the heart of government but nice to think he was a bit worried this morning.

Well my explanation is quite simple: this election was not supposed to political and many voters will have eschewed political affiliations when making up their minds about their choice. Added to that, I'm willing to bet that the people who actively either spoiled their ballots or did not attend (83% of the electorate in Lewes) included many of those people whose natural affiliation lies to the left of centre and who would vote that way in a normal election.

Essentially, if you're using this as a guide to the outcome in a general election then I think you're in for a surprise.

People dont vote for candidates they vote out the incumbent in most cases.Conservatives end 50 years of labour misrule, labour ends 50 years of tory misrule ad infinitum. They only let us vote so we are responsible for what they do in our name. The huge national debt is the result of borrowing money from the banks to bail out the banks.Have any of the major parties revealed this? Do you honestly think these people represent you?

I posted earlier under the BBC Report on Sussex PCC and it occurred to me to repeat again on this thread.
What I said was that it might be easily overlooked that the LibDems forced the date of the PCC Election to the silly November date because THEY saw it risking their performance if it was run simultaneously in May simultaneously with local elections. The outrageous cost of running separate a separate PCC Election (Polling Stations etc.) could have been dramatically cut but the LibDems nationally thought otherwise with another wasteful agenda which has backfired upon them..............once again and at the expense of the taxpayer. Ask Norman Baker to justify!
