After the aggravation she got on here, it's hardly surprising she's not been posting. It's also noticeable that the standard of debate has fallen in her absence.
Brixton Belle hasn't been around either.
I hope they both come back, and don't just disappear for ever like Spinster did.

Yes, the spiteful idiots saw her off like they've seen others off before her. Saying that, she does lurk and occasionally post under other pseudonyms, as do other old timers (myself included) who gave up under the venomous onslaught and de-masking by jealous small-minded cretins

There is something to be said for the use of a regular pseudonym.
Owk It does you a disservice by calling someone or some people
'spiteful idiots, venomous, small-minded cretins' can't you just ignore
the people to whom you refer?

Quite hard when they make every thread descend into a mire of childish comment and name calling... and when they out you, as has happened to at least four people here.
Yes, as you say, there is a lot to be said for use of a regular pseudonym (aka registration), and indeed too, the use of regular forum software that keep active threads at the top and alerts you when contributions have been made to threads you are active in. This un-functional forum software actively inhibits threads by not respecting live conversations, limiting the number of posts per thread, and encouraging trolls and simpletons by allowing complete anonymity and non-attribution (or lack of reputation).

I like the way this forum works as it means its constantly changing and you can get an instant visual indication of which threads are being participated in most

That's not correct though. It actively stops a thread being participated by limiting the number of posts. Modern forum software gives a much better indication by keeping active threads at the top and not burying them down the page as this one does. You can also configure modern forum software the show a tree view if you want. Most people choose not to view it this way though as it wastes screen real estate and (as with this forum) slows down load time. A number showing number of posts in a thread title is enough. If the thread is active it's at the top, the next active second etc.
