Trains from London Victoria to Hastings were severely delayed yesterday with some journeys running more than an hour late.A spokesman for Southern Railways explained to me that the disruption had been had been caused by a train hitting a regular commuter who overcome with despair at the rotten standard of service and frequent delays on the line had thrown himself under a train.

On three out of the last five train journeys I've made on Southern I've been able to fill in a 'delay repay' form and get a refund. At this rate Southern will soon be paying me to travel with them.
