Something Different - Whales in Brighton

Can anyone help? My wife told me she can remember in the late 70's early 80's when she was a little girl when a whale (dead?) visited Brighton on a lorry! Before I have her medication increased does this ring true with anyone? I'm presuming it was washed up close by and it went "on tour" along the south coast - quite a tourist attraction apparently. Can anyone else remember such a tall story?

Can remember seeing a dead whale being displayed on a lorry in Worthing when I was a kid. Could well be the same one although this would have been early seventies -definitely no later than 1974.

Cant remember the whale but can remember the Athena B being beached at Brighton. My Uncle took pics of me standing next to it.
