Hello, does anyone belong to a slimming club in Lewes or nearby that they would recommend?
Please only respond to this if you can answer the above question.

I'm setting up a free slimming club soon, in Lewes. Will let you know in a couple of days when and where.

Is there an eating club ? A bit like come dine with me where a few of us could meet up , and either eat at homes or out at various eateries ? Just a thought

I go to Slimming World on a Tuesday Night at 7.30pm @ the phoenix centre. There is a mix of men and women. There is also one at 5.30 i believe

Thanks to those who've taken the time to reply. Bongo, that sounds interesting, think support is really useful when sticking to a diet long term.
Norman cook- love your idea although I think my waistline would not. Sounds like a great way to meet other people too.
Thanks again. Passing By is the leader motivational in terms of her talk. Also, how much weight are you losing/have you lost? (sorry if question is too personal).

It's not about diets, it's about changing your entire life style. We all eat too much and have to seriously change the way we view food.
Joining a 'club' is just a way to extract money from you too!
I suffered from an over active knife and fork, but now I use chopsticks, it takes longer to eat and makes me fuller sooner. Another thing you need to buy is will power !

Hi Lardy Lady. All of the current diet groups promote a change in lifestyle not a quick fix mentality- they've really moved on. Joining a club is useful for some people- me included- but obviously not for everyone. Like your chopsticks idea and would pay dearly for a bottle of will power that never runs out!
I'd be interested in hearing from people who do attend weight loss groups in Lewes.

Hi Vivi, I'm an expert in diets and slimming clubs, but the best thing I've found has been following the Paleo diet. I'm slimmer than I ever was at Slimming World or Weight Watchers, and it truly feels like a lifestyle change rather than a diet. I eat tons, feel great (my hay fever has gone), and am the same weight I was 20 years ago.

Big Mac- your response is unhelpful and annoying. Have you got any experience that will help?
The Paleo diet is an interesting thought...guess I'm also really interested in group support.

Sorry for the late reply. Im not on here everyday. I tend to loose 2-3lbs per week on Slimming World. I eat lots of foods too. The leader at the moment is only tempoary but she is very good. Talks through if you have gained weight and not lost. Gives tips for different foods. Some people just go and get weighed but i find the actual meetings help. There is a money back guarantee too so if you dont loose weight within the first 4 weeks they refund what you have spent

Thanks for responding Passing By. Is that the Monday or Tuesday group? 2-3 lbs a week is a great loss. Well done!
