Horrified to find out the extent of slavery in modern Britain, possably up to 13000 people.
How in this day and age is this even possible and how can we stop it?
Can this be happening in Sussex?

Metatron - T'was ever thus and it will never change because your average Joe Public may suspect that something is awry but "doesn't want to get involved". It is the same story with abused children. Neighbours hear the crying, but turn a blind eye as they are understandably fearful of the consequences. There is no easy answer.

There is one problem with the domestic setting in Britain and that is that it is still legal to pay under the minimum wage and have No Health and Safety requirements for people who work in your home. That is close to slavery and it makes it very easy to make slaves of the unwarey or desperate. Nannies, cleaners etc are easy prey for slavery ( and the sex trade because if your English isn't good you have no defence). What is criminal is people getting rich off the bakcs of these abused persons-it is how Britain got so wealthy in the 1800's in the first place.
