A very fantastic woman called Louise found a small yet friendly stray cat on Saturday, took him in for the weekend and then took him to the vets this morning. Given that he had been 'chipped' he was easily identified and we got the call to pick him up. Skitter, who is under a year old, had been missing for nearly two months. Since well before the worst of the frost and snows. My wife cried when she got home.. biggest thanks again to Louise and family.

That is great news Andrew. Do you know where Skitter has been for the past two months? Probably not ...
When I was a kid we lost our cat for a mere 24 hours. I was heart broken. Turns out he met some neighbours out walking in the woods one Sunday morning (I lived in Haywards Heath at the time). He followed them home, they let him in and left him alone in the kitchen along with a whole uncooked chicken, sitting proudly on the table. Needless to say, within a few minutes the bulk of the chicken was gone. But our cat sat outside the back door all night hoping for some more!
Cats are born survivors. I'm glad yours came back.

Thanks all for the messages. Skitter had been spotted all over (sightings not markings);Wallands and Lamport; but was eventually picked up near the Pheonix Estate. I believe warehousemen down that way often feed strays - as do many I suppose.
So, he's back, a bit bigger and definitely tougher, but back!
