Lucy - how much are you thinking of paying?

Yes, a price range would be helpful. You can pay anything from 250k to getting on for £750k for a house in Lewes Town, and if you extend the area the range is even higher!

I think you can spend a lot more than £750K in Lewes without even being imaginative !

Fairmeadow: Yes, of course you can: I should have been clearer. I was responding to the the questioner's specification of a 2-3 bed house. You wouldn't find it hard to spend a couple of million in some parts of Lewes and I'd want a bit more than 2-3 bedrooms for that, I think!

Really? Our ceiling prices in Lewes have been £1-1.2m, not anywhere near a couple of mil. Would love that level to be reached soon, as it'd mean loads more commission for us types!

That's the spirit ES! But we will need to get prices up to £2M to benefit from Brother Osborne's ant-stamp-duty-avoidance scheme. At only £1.2M the buy-in-my-company- name scam will still evade stamp duty. I suppose Brother George just didn't understand that out in the sticks there are people who pay so little for their houses.
