Despite police and council warnings that traffic would not be allowed into or out of Lewes until 2am, traffic was coming and going via earwig corner from 09.30. Whilst letting traffic out of Lewes is low security risk. Why were so many cars allowed to come into Lewes via this route. We spotted cars not being checked at the police road block just driving into Lewes. Can the council and police not issue and enforce the controls that they say we're required, or did they not mean what they said.

It is simply appalling. Dereliction of duty and an insult to Bonfire. How on EARTH was this allowed?

Couldn't agree more, I am neutral to the display but obviously like everyone else had a day of no driving due to the roads. Than when I wandered up to the precession I was amazed to see so many cars driving on roads that were supposed to be closed. Including some twat driving a van around the spectators.
