Slightly off topic but does anyone know whether theres anywhere in Lewes from where you can see the sea? I'm guessing that, given you can't from the top of the castle tower then there isn't.?

You can sort of see it from up on Landport Bottom by the racecourse, over Newhaven harbour way, but you wouldn't know it was the sea unless you already knew it was, if you know what I mean. Maybe from the Golf Club, too? It depends what you mean by 'in Lewes', I suppose.

You can see it easily from Nevill - I can even see if the ferry's in from my bedroom window!

That's got to be one of the fastest 'off topics' ever.

I've never known a time when Lewes hasn't been covered in scaffolding, tbh. I swear it has its own stock and it's swapped from building to building.
Anyone remember the scaffolding on the post office a few yars ago? For the first couple of days it had a pole going horizontally across Watergate Lane, at a height cars could go under, but low enough for tall people to bang their heads on.
