I have been on a mission to find the best sausage produced around here for a while. After trying all the convenient outlets in and near to Lewes I plumped for the sausages made by Frank Richards the Butchers, situated right at the top end of town (25 Western Road, Lewes BN7 1RL, 01273 473 086). The best tasting by quite a long way in my humble opinion.
I have to admit I didn't try Lee Howards in Ringer though as it's too far out of my way (as is Fletching).

Definitely Frank Richards, done a similar survey myself recently, tried them all. All good but they came out tops.

The Abergavenny in Rodmell have Pork & Herb sausages for sale local pigs & made into sausages in Horam. Verty tasty & only £5 a kilo(frozen). The Farmer is selling them & donating 1 per kilo to the Rodmell & Northease Cubs. A charitable chomp. The Pub food is fantastic too, so worth a visit before they sell out .

My vote is for Richards. Also makes the most amazing sausage rolls. Try to get them fresh out of the oven and make sure to buy at least two - you'll eat the first in seconds.

Don't know about sausages, but we have had some fab burgers from Bradford Farm, down near Bentley Wild Fowl.
