I broke down in Hailsham; and was recovered to Barcombe by the AA. The front wheels of my car were put on a "dolly", which is a small trailer that is wider than the AA Transit towing it.
On reaching Golden Cross on the A22, the satnav sent the driver to Ringmer via the Halland roundabout (presumably to keep to the major roads?)
Worse was to come. On reaching Ringmer, the driver suddenly turned into Bishops Lane. When he reached those with restriction poles he nearly had a breakdown himself! We had to turn round, with great difficulty.
Back home, I thought of offering him last year's AA road atlas- but I did want to embarrass him further.

It always makes me laugh when lorry drivers come up the C7 to get from Newhaven to Brighton, then block the road for 15 minutes as they struggle to do the left by the Swan.
I've seen them struggling to a right at the prison lights when they come back, as well. Dutch flower lorries seem to be quite regular offenders at this.
The C7 would benefit from a ban on the really big lorries, imo.

The C7 has had a ban on really big lorries for years. It has a 7.5T weight limit, just gets ignored and not policed.

I never knew that! I've never noticed any signs prohibiting lorries, either, but then I'm not very observant.
Given the number of big lorries using it, I'm surprised they don't have a blitz on nicking them every now and then, they'd generate a fair bit of income.
