Owning a van is as much a crime as owning a 4x4. I was almost attacked by our servants at the Lewes dump a few days ago. Anyone turning up in a van is assumed to be that despised species called a business man and therefore expected to either swallow all rubbish or pay through the nose to have it disposed of. When I reminded him that he would get many more folks turning up once charging starts for household rubbish collection (council tax? what's that for??), our aggressive servants said that charges would be introduced for everyone at the dump.
So the solution, as I see it, is to make everything out of sticks, leaves and clay. Use animals in place of machines. Whistle or sing instead of making and using radios and hi-fi equipment. Send pigeons instead of making and using telephones or computers. Bull-doze the towns and make our homes in caves in the hills. Lack of tax revenue would cause the downfall of the government so everybody would be free and happy. Simple.

The Morons at the dumps really are little hitlers. My father recently went down there to dump an old bed and was told that he couldn't as he had been down there too often over the last 3 weeks. They said his number plate had been recorded there 20 odd times. This wouldn't be so bad but he had been on holiday for a month and that was his first trip there for 6 months! We are still awaiting the council to come back to us with evidence of his vehicle being there to pass on to the police as his plate could have been cloned! He did dump the bed there!
