Sorry to say I watched the rooks last night.
First half not too bad but oh dear second half real let down.
The fitness levels of the team are sadly lacking which was obvious the longer the game went on.

I watched them too. As usual. The problems are (1) they are part time players playing against full time well paid professionals. They are never going to be as fit as the opponents. (2) There is no money at Lewes. The main benefactor, Martin Elliot, has stopped bankrolling the club. Without decent money you don't get decent players or managers. The new manager is pretty useless but hey, he's cheap!

We can't say we're surprised they're being thrashed. You can't possibly run a Blue Square Premiership team with no money - an inexperienced manager, poor players (no offence - poor compared only to their opponents) in a crap ground is the result. I'm serious - they should make a film about the rise and fall of the club and use the proceeds to start again - it would make a fascinating tragi-comedy. Suggestions of actors to play the parts please.......

footie is a territorial game supported by passionate people - never before have I seen a club who have fought so hard for promotion for 5 seasons under a dedicated manager - through 3 levelsof playoff in one season and been in the top 3 and unpromotobable because of their ground - win their division (again) then suddenly sack the manager hence lose all their players just when they achieve what EVERY club in the world strives for year after year PROMOTION - eeeh???? RIP Lewes you don't stand a chance - and I mourn for you - I have loved my evenings and afternoons at the Dripping Pan - thank you greed for stiffling our towns athletic prowess - enemies of bonfire this year must surely be the Rooks "board"

I'm not convinced the board and greed are totally to blame. Naive certainly. It seems they simply don't have the finance to keep going at this level. they should have reined it in earlier before it got to this stage.
