So Chailey, Newick, Barcombe etc all have bonfire/fireworks displays but Ringmer doesn't! Why not? It is the ONLY place within the Lewes district that doesn't! Anyone know why not?? Surely a bonfire & display would be great on the green, followed by a few pints at the Anchor or green man!

Ringmer bonfire societies have been formed roughly every decade over the last century, but they rarely last more than a year or two. Just too close to Lewes I guess.

There are a few places that don't.. but if you want to join you will be welcomed into the fold with advice and support of your kindred societies.. be warned it is a LOT of work and fundraising. Bonfire is all year round, not just in autumn!
