Any reason why Ringmer doesn't have a bonfire society? Most other surrounding villages seem to have one?

It's a nice village
They don't want loads of weirdoes dressing up once a year and making loud noises

Someone starts one every decade or so, but they never seem to last more than two or three years. May be too easy to get into Lewes and see something rather more professional.

Ringmer used to have a bonfire society years ago and Cliffe once attended

I read a lot about Lewes bonfire societies saying that it's a Lewes thing, enjoy it and put up with it. So why worry about a village outside of Lewes?

I hate Ringmer. No decent pubs. For those poor souls who live there, it must be like living in a coffin!

How funny that you could 'hate' a beautiful countryside village because you think it has 'no decent pubs'!!! Only a sad miserable alcohol dependant loser would say that.
In actual fact, there is The Anchor, opposite the green, newly refurbished, lovely open fires, really nice pub. Secondly the absolutely lovely Cock Inn which sells award winning food and has a gorgeous pub garden for the summer. Thirdly the Green Man which is a huge favourite with people who travel from outside the village just to go there.
And the type of people who live in Ringmer aren't looking to go on pub crawls anyway. We moved to a village in the country to get away from people like you who lead lifestyles like yours.
Grow up Spicey T (your name says a lot about you ha ha!)

The Cock is great, but the Anchor? Went I went there a week or so after it reopened i was served a stone cold steak and my wife thought her food awful too. Maybe these were just teething problems?
