Same all over East Sussex. The council blame it on sick leave. That equals world cup Stella drinking staff too drunk to work.

Exactly how can they be sick this time of year.

It was the same problem on the railways, a few days ago. If employed staff lost a day's when they went "sick", the absenteeism might drop dramatically. Genuine sickness should be backed by a doctor's certificate.

The company that empty bins are supplied by agencies so surely they can supply workers with all the people we have unemployed

The recycling guys consider Landport to be a no-go area. They have been demanding UN Peacekeepers to accompany them on their rounds.

As a lad who lived and grew up in Landport, I'm amazed at the flak it gets these days. It was a fabulous place back in the 60-70s. I've not been back to Landport in over 20 years, but surely it isn't quite as bad as it's portrayed on this forum.

I dunno Duke, have you seen the "People who grew up in Landport" Facebook group? 100+ post long threads about kids driving unlicensed cars around the estate, smashing windows and threatening people, other people chasing them in their own cars and all interspersed with barely literate abuse from interested parties, it all paints a pretty grim picture.
To be honest, Landport is much better than it was in the 80's and 90's as most of the denizens cashed in on right to buy, sold up to Londoners looking for a cheap, three-bed place and shipped out to Hailsham but there are still enough scummers living there to make it somewhere the rest of Lewes wouldn't visit unless they absolutely had to.

Absolute nonsense about Landport, I’ve never experienced or witnessed all these anti social activities. I’m sure there’s a fair few scallywags around as with any other area of housing . The rumour mill has been working overtime . Also my recycling bins have been emptied, if yours haven’t you should phone LDC

Landportian probably lives in Uptown Landport (commonly known as the Green Sector). That area is fairly safe with only the occasional report of sniper activity across from Downtown Landport, aka The Badlands.

Don't see a problem with landport, originally I was from Kent and its much worse up there full of backstabbers and very chavvy.
I personally find it quite peaceful.
