It wouldn't happen under a labour government. In fact, nothing will close under a labour government. Vote labour and the future is paved with gold.

Poor attempt Greek. You only care about your own voice, not local issues. Stick to killing this forum by strangulation. That's all your good for.

Drove past there earlier and saw it was closed up with a sign saying the above in the door. No-one knows?

The lease has been up for sale for ages. I'm hoping someone takes it over and makes it nice. Moved to Cooksbridge in November and it's got such bad reviews I've never been in.

Times are hard for country pubs. Customers have to drive to get there, so you need to maintain an excellent reputation for your food to make a living. Many are interesting old buildings with high values on the residential market, or have car parks that make nice rural development schemes. However, the Anchor in Ringmer and the Roebuck in Laughton both managed to re-open after periods of closure. Let us hope the Rainbow finds someone to take it on.

Indeed. The Rainbow got bad rep when Marco Pierre White took it over and removed all the pub aspects, alienated the locals and ran it terribly. He left and it was a pub again. However it has always had a full car park on weekends since I can remember so it can't have been doing a bad trade. On the flip side, the Bluebell at Halland (was Wok Inn) has re-opened!

Shouldn't be a pub there at all. Fast curving road coming down from Chailey, awkward and dangerous junction.. I use this junction every day, for years, I'm glad the pub is doing no business, the car park is inadequate & pub success always meant overflow parking, complicating the junction even more. Ok in the days of horse drawn transport I spose.
