Tragic loss for all of us. Sad news indeed. John kept the best Harveys on tap in Lewes and on my trips home (as I live and work in Asia), the Swan was my first watering hole, on my return ! Readers may be interested to learn that when I first went to work in Thailand in 1985, I was posted up in the highlands near Chiang Mai, miles away from anywhere. I tuned into the BBC World Service one evening and heard a familiar voice explain to the listeners the finer points of keeping a beer in tip top condition in your cellar. Lo and behold, it was John from the Swan ! It was radio like that that kept us connected when there was no sky TV. We always had a laugh and reminisced over that one ! Heartfelt sympathies to Glenys and family
