Am I the only one who thinks the new post office is better than the old one? More space and cleaner! I was against the closure but if it had to happen, the solution is great!

Perhaps you should have been on the end of the long and winding queue at 10.30 this morning. Only two hatches open and a lot of disgruntled mutterings nearly to the door. The staff actually apologised and said that it was hardly the most auspicious start and reflected badly on the store. To be fair, more often than not, there only used to be two hatches open at the old post office too but at least the queue out the door and into the street didn't impact on the shop in general. It is going to be utter chaos in the run up to Christmas when people trying to post parcels impact shoppers just buying items at the checkout. I shall do what I did last year and drive to Ringmer in desperation.

So you believe that the old Post Office was hopeless last year? Good; someone else without rose-tinted specs on.

Barcombe is a good alternative PO too.

Another alternate, albeit a little further afield, is the one in the shop on Neville Road, Hove. We used it last year to mail some cards overseas (USA IIRC) on the last posting day - no queue at all. It's along way to go, but worth bearing in mind if you are going to be in the area anyway.

Glynde, Chailey Firle, and Plumpton Green are a couple of other alternatives.

Chailey is possibly the most infuriating shop I've ever had the misfortune of using, I used to live near it and so glad I don't have to go there anymore - a combination of some of the surly staff and the lay out of the shop. Worth noting Plumpton Green stop their post office services at lunchtime most days. Moolsecombe is actually always quick and easy to use I find. I've not had any problems with the new one in Lewes though!

Post lady, are you the same intern who is doing the Aqua posts or are there more of you?

@Clifford - It has to be a young intern. You can always tell by the excessive use of exclamation marks. Everything is great! The food at Aqua is wonderful! My response to all these Aqua posts has been to book a table...at Pizza Express.
