Just wanted to make everyone aware, particularly Lewes shops, that there are dirty rotten thieves around. We are proud to sell handcrafted poppies made by a local resident, with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion. The poppies are beautiful and are extremely popular and our lovely customer painstakingly hand makes these all year round and we ask for a minimum donation of £1.00 per poppy. But today someone decided to steal the collecting box whilst our backs were turned. Shame! We have more poppies to sell and hope to make up the estimated shortfall with extra generous donations and will now keep the money in our till. But if anyone out there know who this was please encourage them to think about their disgusting actions...and everyone else with collecting tins, please be extra vigilant

@Bar Steward thank-you @That's anoying I agree, unfortunately, the stair-lift is US but we are awaiting alternative, however if you ever need help, any of the boys downstairs will help with the pram or alternatively, just ask someone to get a staff member and we'll come down and help-we do it all the time for our disabled customers...

That's what I like to see - proper service from an independent shop, and clearly all the businesses looking out for each other. I'll come and buy one of your poppies and hopefully T'sA will do so too.

STOP PRESS WOW! Amazing generosity from our favourite, fantastic haberdashery supplier who has heard about this VILE theft and is donating the shortfall. As an ex-Army man, it's a cause 'close to his heart'. Big Thanks -you know who you are xx
