Politician speaking sense

It's not very often that I hear a politician speak sense but Dr Cable seems to have hit the nail on the head today: 'On banks, I make no apology for attacking spivs and gamblers who did more harm to the British economy than Bob Crow could achieve in his wildest Trotskyite fantasies, while paying themselves outrageous bonuses underwritten by the taxpayer. There is much public anger about banks and it is well deserved.'

Yes I see New Labour are delighted with that .I see he also agrees with the Institute of Fiscal Studies, that the top rate of tax will not gain anay revenue and is only a piece of posturing.yup...
Poor old Vince , he had his moment in the sun.During the GE however he was ritually disembowelled in interview after interview as his shallow weather-vane populism was exposed to the sort of scrutiny the main Parties are used to. He has actually occupied everty single position along the spectrum of debt v deflation and this sad-donkey kick owner routine is obviously motivated by bitterness at being marginalised by Clegg.
Never mind he`ll always have dance

Unusually for you Newmania you're almost right. I should have added that this is the only sensible thing I've heard Dr Cable say.

Oh the benefit of hindsight, yes Mr Cable et al, you all know now what we should have done ha ha. Hope all is well Clifford my friend, have had a few life probs to attend to, but alas, all is well now, unlike the banking industry. Best, Peter
