Anyone out there experienced performance slowdowns with either Sky or PLusnet? I'm looking to switch from BT, and BT is telling me the other networks don't have the same capacity and will slow me down at peak periods: anyone found this to be the case? Like slowing down in the evenings?

Plusnet's been fine for me, good and fast; last year the signal kept dropping and the help team were great - quick to respond, and kept trying different things till the problem was fixed. So although they're owned by BT, the help process is a very different cuppa tea.

You'll find that on most providers you'll experience some form of contention issues during peak hours. This has been the norm for years. Even if switching to a different provider, you could very well see bottleneck problems post 6pm and at weekend. Unless of course you move to fibre. Speeds might still slow down but you should still have speeds above 12Mbps at peak times.
The best thing to do (if you're on BT) is to run a speed test via the link below which will show if you're experiencing any throughput issues or not.
