Can someone please tell me how to get to plashett wood and how to actually access it? From which road? How do I get to footpaths through the wood?
And what is Plashett Park? I see it has a large area of water - is this a lake? How do I get there?
I live in Lewes, but don't know Plashett wood at all. Would love to know how I can get to it. I love walking in woods.
Thanks.

Thanks Q.
Can you tell me the name of the road to turn in to? Is there parking? Can you access the lake?
Many thanks.

As you drive towards Uckfield, Just past the Halfway house and where they have built those new houses/boxes, on the Right is a public footpath sign through the trees towards a metal gate. Nowhere to park though.

You can park at the Halfway House, Rose Hill. There is also a bus stop.Get an OS map as not all the paths are rights of way and shooting goes on there. It's not a public park but some paths are open.

I’m fairly sure most of the wood is inaccessible to the public. As noted there is a footpath which skirts along the eastern and southern edges but all the tracks going inside I’ve come across say private.

Sorry, that should be a public footpath along the north eastern side and the south eastern side. There is a track (see link to OS map) through the forest but I'm fairly confident it's private.

That's really helpful, thank you.
I wonder who these woods are owned by if it's mostly private?
It's beyond me why these posts are getting thumbed down.

My dad used to work on Plashett farm. My mum would walk down the lane to the A27 to catch a bus to Lewes for work. She would leave her wellies in the hedge by the cottages (opposite Callaghams/solar farm). As kids we would walk in the woods. Always found spent gun cartridges. Was an avid fan of Pogels Wood (watch with mother lunchtime). My brother told me that Pippin and Tog lived there. I'm cool with that.
