The older I get the more I hate clutter/stuff/possessions but I am finding it hard to get rid of some things. What to do with boxes of photos that have been in the loft? Faded snaps of caravan holidays in the New Forest, grandparents at christmas, long since departed relatives, pets from childhood etc. I feel slightly sad looking at them and how time slips away...keep/scan/get rid?? I don't know

Any children Rose? In our family they get passed down. Mind you, many date from a time when developing and printing was expensive so there weren't so many taken.

My mum chucked all the views away, kept only the very best of significant people, put them in just one album with labels on with name, relationship, date and place. So organised but lovely for me !

Keep the photos of people and places you know but put dates and explanations with them in an album. People are fascinated by family history and photos of the past. Even if it's rejatives your children didn't know, their personal stories are worth recording

I got a cheapo scanner from ALDi - went through 40 years of photos, dumping bad ones and scanning the good into descriptive folders on PC. Took a while but freed up some space - probably won't look at them but couldn't quite bring myself to chuck them out.
