Someone is putting home-made warning stickers on cars parked on the gravel verge of Nevill Road just north of the Motor Road turning. They claim that cars are parked there illegally, which I believe to be nonsense.
Does anyone know either the police, LDC or ESCC is the best way of reporting these false warnings?
Thanks.

If a carriageway adjacent to a verge has double-yellow lines, then I have been told by Sussex Police that they are deemed to apply to the adjacent verge area as well (i.e. parking all-four wheels off the yellow-lined carriageway, but on teh verge adjacent to it, is as illegal as parking on the piece of carriageway itself).
However, if there are no yellow lines on the carriageway, then I assume it is legal to park on the carriageway (assuming Highway Code considerations such as not parking near bends, hump-back bridges, junctions or other assorted " blind spots" etc are applied), and it ay be lgal to park on the adjacent verge, so long as the verge isn't covered by some other 'no parking bylaw', and/or so long as those parking there have the permission of the land owner?
If the notices are being posted with no authority, and the area can legally be used for parking by those parking there then yes, try reporting the notices to the Police or LDC/ESCC etc - but in reality would you rather Plods waste time and effort sorting out a few pieces of incorrect paper whcih you can simply ignore, or that they actually spend their effort trying to catch real criminals.... it's your call.

I thought it unlikely that the police would be the correct body to report this to. But the stickers say that the land is owned by Lewes Racecourse (wrong - Landport Bottom is LDC land, and the highways are ESCC) and refer to "action being taken" in the future if the sticker is ignored.
There is no legal basis on which to levy fines for parking in an area not controlled by formal legal notices, or by yellow lines and the like.
