Not only have Specsavers served me very well for years, but they were able to pick up a retinal tear at an emergency appointment last week and fix some emergency laser treatment the same evening at the Sussex Eye Hospital.

Specsavers for good no fuss service and value for money frames. As part of the eye test you also get Retinal Photography for free. Good guarantee; have taken back 18 month old frames for repair and no charge was made.
Spectrum a bit stuffy and very expensive frames. OK if you want to spent a lot of money on top end designs. Be careful they are very good at up-selling so only go their if you are happy to spend several hundred pounds. Took back a pair of their glasses for a nose pad replacement and they charged me £5. Specsavers do this for free. Their pricing is a bit confusing, they tried to charge me for Retinal Photography although their publicity makes it look like it's included.

Yes, although it pains me to support a chain over the independents, Specsavers are better value and give excellent service.

I would definitely recommend Specsavers in Lewes. My whole family have been using them for many many years and cannot fault them. I recently had new glasses from them which, for the first time, I was having difficulty adapting to. I went back and saw the manager, Trish, who went to extraordinary lengths to sort out the problem. It turned out in the end to be simply the shape of the glasses/lens which was affecting my vision. She recommended a new frame with the same prescription and this resolved the problem immediately. All done at absolutely no extra cost. Brilliant service and fabulous staff.

A couple of years ago Trish the manager at Specsavers went out of her way to make sure I had my glasses delivered in time for my holiday at short notice. First rate service.

Why all the thumbs down in people's positive recommendations, but no contradictory comments. People are odd.

Clear winner. I'd heard some not very nice things about some of their shop staff being unhelpful, but I'm willing to find out about that for myself if the glasses do their job. Thanks everyone
