The 2016 referendum was a national vote. Everyone who is democratic should respect the outcome. We do not want to get into a civil war between Leavers and Remainers.

I agree webbo and it's disappointing that the greens and labour are standing here. It's a shame that the remain supporting parties can't come to a sensible agreement nationally.

I ultimately favour a people's vote, so if a lib/lab/SNP coalition agree to that, it would probably be the best outcome in my view. However, if the country vote lib Dems by a majority then it's clearly a mandate to revoke article 50 anyway, so I wouldn't begrudge that. Same as if the turkeys vote for (Christmas) a Brexit party, if they win a majority then fair enough and God help us all! We really do live in ridiculous times.

Boris Johnson is not a Leaver, he just jumped on the Brexit bandwagon to fulfill his ambition of being PM. He is left presiding over a Conservative Part that is moving further right towards a low tax/low public spending regime and could shift further right if it has to enter into an election pact with the Brexit Party.
Labour would be nailed on to win the election if it remained a left of centre moderate socialist party to which two thirds of its MP's support but it is being driven further left by its leader and his close allies towards a high taxation/ Low enterprise regime that wants to move from a moderately mixed economy to a predominantly nationalised economy.
Nobody can claim that there is hardly any difference between Conservative and Labour any more. To think that these shifts have been largely driven by the minority arms of their parties ie, the ERG and Momentum.
The LIbDems are now the only party occupying the centre ground of UK politics after about three decades of Conservative and Labour wrestling for the centralist vote. If you are not a Right wing Conservative or a Left Wing Labour the LibDems is probably the only option but old habits die hard so some people will blindly vote as they have always voted.

If that political endorsement doesn't make the more "moderate" brexit/tory voters seriously question their own options, then I guess nothing else will. Seriously, your movement, leadership is fully backed by Donald Trump....let that hideous thought just detonate in your brain, as you think rationally about it.

Our current MP didn't get in to it for a career. She worked as a nurse in the NHS for years. She's had a real job, genuinely and actively cared for people and not just talked about it as a "human rights campainer".
She has lived in the real world, paid tax and contributed to our society.
I cannot think of anyone more qualified to be our MP.

I had to google it, and the first source was.....of course, The Daily Mail. Its hardly an astonishing claim - if you row back food standards and regulations on industries connected with the supply and preparation of food, you're going to have in general lower quality hygiene. Its why the regulations are there in the first place to prevent businesses from taking short-cuts.
Even WITH reasonably high standards, its inevitable that some food will contain blemishes, parasites, bacteria and worse....but why increase that chance? "Ooooo the worlds gone mad with all its 'elf n safety". No, its common sense rules and standards to ensure fewer of us get sick, or eat gross stuff.
