I see there is notice of delays (5 weeks) due to traffic calming work to be carried out on the Offham Road. I have not seen any 'planning' notices relating to this, dont even know if they apply to such work. Does anyone know what calming measures are planned? Humps or 1 way at a time or other?

Whatever it is it'll be welcome. Need some along by the Piggy steps as well, lots of kids cross there as well.

I think this must be the delayed implementation of the scheme shown in an exhibition several years ago to put three pinch points on the Offham Road with pedestrian lights: at the top where the children cross to Wallands School, in the middle where King Henry's Road, Hill Road and the entrance to Landport meet and at the bottom where Prince Edwards Road and the pedestrian route to Landport Road meet Offham Road. If there was any advertising it was probably several years ago when the scheme went through planning.

I heard it's a roundabout at the junction of The Avenue and the Offham Road

ESCC Highways website seems to suggest it's something at the bottom of Hill Road / King Henry's. For all the Landport kids who go to LOGS Prep, I suppose.

Pinch points along the Offham road. That will help traffic getting out of the town centre then. Not! Queue up everyone. Whichever part of the town you may be in at peak period.

Wonderful! Instead of doing something positive by installing a crossing and enforcing a lower speed limit or improving the junction at the top, particularly for left turns, let's make the only decent route in and out of town as challenging as the rest of them. More chicken run fun along Prince Edwards Road it is then.
