Don't know where the spice merchant is, so no idea.
Is that a code name for the chap that used to run the sweet shop?

Yes I heard they hired some t...t to do their publicity for them and they aren't going to bother paying him....

Hmmm…I thought a forum for Lewes might be quite a good place to ask about a new restaurant opening in Lewes. I guess not.

Looks like there's also a new Turkish opening next to Fuego. I suspect there's only room for one Turkish in Lewes.

Its annoying. The website URL doesnt work and the 2 emails I've sent them (based on the sign they have hanging on the building) this past month have bounced back. A good Turkish restaurant would be a good thing but this seems like a sloppy operation so far and I feel like removing the sign next time I go past!

This came up on The Lewes List today in their weekly email.

Spice Merchant was an Indian Restaurant close to Needlemakers opposite St John Street. Currently seems to be site of one of two new Turkish Restaurants opening in Lewes - other being next door to Fuegos in the premier inn block. Good to get some more food choices but two new Turkish eateries at same time within 200 yds seems a freakish coincidence.
