I remember the Wimpy bars. They could just about be called a restaurant; as they had waiter service, with a bill at the end Hamburger and chips for 20p. They probably replaced the coffee bars of the sixties, like the Polar Bear.
There is still one in Telscombe Cliffs on the A259.
