Hooray! At last, our beloved county council is resurfacing the stretch of road from the motor road to Highdown Road.
We'll no longer have to steer like a visually impaired drunkard to avoid the worst of the ruts or brace ourselves for the next jolting bump.
It's rare to have anything positive to say about ESCC highways maintenance, but this really is good news.

If they can make sure the drains stop flooding that'd be even better. And probably a lot cheaper too. The lack of sitting water on the road surface would also increase the longevity of the tarmac.

Creating a nice smooth racetrack for cars speeding towards the primary school crossing hidden just over the brow of the hill - brilliant. We actually need speed bumps and a chicane here.

That's fine Cynic, nobody minds slowing down for a school, (in fact that would suit me just fine), they just mind about wrecking their tyres/suspension.
