What is going on with this shop?
Since the change of ownership, it seems to be closed more than it is open. I went down the other day to buy a newspaper and it was shut, the reason was that they were out delivering newspapers(!).
When I drove past earlier this evening it was closed and I believe they also close during the day.
It used to be open all the time, but since the change of hands, it only seems to be open as and when it suits them.

I cannot understand the mentality of someone who buys a shop, closes it for long periods of the day and expects it to succeed. Such a shame as the previous owners were so nice.

@ Realist - Who says the new owners want it to succeed, they may have another reason for buying it?
Or, they may believe that the level of custom/trade between 10am and 3pm doesn't cover the cost of opening up between those hours?
I agree that most people would assume the new owners would follow what appeared to be a successful formula for previous owners, but there may be very good reasons why they are not currently doing so.

I hope this shop stays as a shop as sometimes I need to buy things from there.

Dear teacher,
I don't think your post contributed much to this discussion. If you are not going to say anything useful don't say anything at all as the saying goes.
Kind regards,
Gary
