Could anyone help me in finding out where I could find information on my 'Bonfire Boy' 3x Great Grandfather. His name was George Coombes born 1801 and died in 1894. He lived in English's Passage so I am assuming he would have been a member of the Cliffe Bonfire Society. Also he died whilst picking flowers on the railway line. According to the newspaper reports of the time, he was near 'End's Lane' but I cannot find this on any maps, anyone know where this is?
Any help would be gratefully received!

'End Lane' could be in Ditchling?

Hope this helps.

The Access to Archives (A2A) service might be able to help you, and the County Record Office, but they are in the process of packing up to move to The Keep in Falmer, so I'm not sure. Good luck with that! Here's the A2A link anyway:

Presumably you have found him in the 1841-1891 censuses?
