Once again the bonfire societies did Lewes proud, Jack Straws favourite Condy Rice being one of many unfortunates on the night. It says it all that the BBC coverage on the web is 6 arrests at bonfire, not 50,000 enjoy great spectacle or something similar. Full credit to the pc Guardian which has a double page spread on page 20,though it has to describe the event as "controversial". Let the enemies of bonfire whinge, more chance of Jordan becoming a nun, than they have of curtailing this fine tradition!
