I dont want to risk the ire of the good people of Lewes, but I will be coming to see Mumford and co. in your fine small towm this summer and was looking for somewhere i could park my campervan for the two nghts without upsetting anyone.
Tickets to the campsite have already sold out and vehicles are not allowed on the site anyway. So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know - offers of driveways or roads outside houses would be kindly accepted in return for special treats from yorkshire. (there's only me and the hubby- very clean and tidy and quiet -you'd wouldn't know we'd been there after we've gone)
Look forward to hearing form you all

Sold out eh, hmmmm
Anyone got a field close to town?
Cliffe Bonfire have a field down there somewhere maybe they could set up an auxiliary campsite and bar and make a few bob for the coffers.

I would try Spring Barn Farm campsite - very close by - about a mile walk across field from the festival site. Lovely position at foot of Downs.

I was booked on the first day the event was announced - the people who waited until they'd bought tickets are desperately seeking places to stay and I'm sure everywhere in town is booked. I've been referring campers to Spring Barn as well, so I wonder if they're full too.
I think it's a great idea to rent out fields and make a few bob - how about the Rugby club, for instance? They've got fields for tents and hard standing for caravans - and they've got showers and a bar and everything else your festival goer wants!

Cliffe Bonfire own a field virtually next door to the site so worthwhile asking them. If free parking required in the town, try the Malling estate as it is about the only place not under NCP control (or subject to vandalism). Search for Queens Road, Lewes.

You could try Plumpton Racecourse or the college they both have plenty of space and get the train directly into town

Brucaire, obviously not familiar with Lewes as parking in Queens road isn't that easy at the best of times.

Brucaire, I'm guessing you don't live in malling, as guido said there's hardly any parking in queens road, or the whole estate for that matter, just because its free to park up here doesn't mean it's open to everyone.

Hardy Northern Lass - if you're still looking we have a driveway you can park in in return for some vegetarian Yorkshire treats - oatcakes particularly welcome!
