There was a motorbike accident on the road between Ham Lane, Ringmer and Earwig Corner yesterday, but did not see anything on the news about it. Is it just me but don't you think that South East Today should be called Kent Today, and the same with Meridian. When do they ever show a news item from Sussex? How can they call themselves news? One of their main stories was about a family going bankrupt, when I am sure there are much more relevant and interesting stories to report. I hate Kent.

Absolutely! This has been a bugbear of mine for years, but when I mentioned it to a friend from Kent, he complained that South East Today should be called Brighton Today, so obviously neither county is happy with this arrangement.
I think it's ridiculous that we're lumped together with place as far away as Chatham and Margate.
And while we're at it, why BBC Southern Counties? If you're going to have local radio, make it really local. I know it's down to money, but I can't believe that the inane drivel on that station costs more than a few hundred quid!

I thought it was just me! Im fed up of hearing about things that have happened in Kent on the news. Sure, they do cover things in sussex but im certain that they are dwarfed by stories from our neighbouring county.

Am i right or wrong in saying that if your ariel or dish is pointing towards heathfield you get southeast today which is all about kent which is in the southeast, and if it points towards newhaven you get meridian tonight, or am i talking a load of tosh.

Kind of feel you are winding me up, but if not you are talking a lot of tosh. South Today is BBC, Meridian ITV.

Ok if it points towards heathfield you get kents news but if it points towards newhaven you get local news, the southeast is split into 2 halves. Or am i still talking total tosh.

I once emailed the BBC saying exactly that, that it should be called Kent today!
I guess it's partly prob due to the fact that Kent has a population of around 1.4 million, whereas we're only about half a million, but still. Gets on my nerves too!
