Missed recycling collection

Once again we have reported a missed recycling collection and were told that it would be collected within a few days. Over a week has gone by and the recycling is still sitting at the end of our drive, now soaking wet - along with our neighbours' and the Easter holidays approaching. If we take it back in and someone does come to collect it, it will be missed again! This happens far too often. It really makes us want to forget it and stuff it all in the dustbin. Such a simple thing to get right but Lewes DC just can't cut the mustard.

Mine got collected yesterday but they left the cardboard behind, despite it being in the cardboard bag. They often randomly leave stuff behind to be honest, the whole system is very hit and miss.

Our normal bins weren't collected on their usual day, Monday, and remain uncollected up to now. This applies to the whole street.

Can't help wondering that if they were to increase the council tax the service might get better...

I visited Southover House yesterday with a friend to discuss a housing issue. While there, there was a chap bereating the receptionist that his refuse bin was not collected this week. He was really shouting at her and demanding a refund of all of his council tax. She handled the situation well. However I left thinking Christ its a missed bin, not the end of the World. If its missed this week then it will get picked up next week (unlike Wealden as its fortnightly there).

But unlike Lewes Wealden has a big recycle bin (no separating needed) and a green bin thrown in for free, plastic can be included in the recycling bin.
Because recycling is a proper bin, not a plastic box, the content don't end up blowing down the road on a windy day.
Once a fortnight is more than enough And of course it does result in a lower council tax bill

Big mixed recycling bins are imminent in Lewes. As a single householder I've requested a smaller one.
