The Government's Department for International Development has pledged £10m for Pakistan, whilst a proposal to scrap free school milk has been put forward. Mmmm, something stinks here.

Would you mind milk being withdrawn if we weren't sending aid to Pakistan?

Bit of a non-issue I think. When I attended school as an infant milk was provided free in the morning and afternoon. That was ended by having it only in the morning but a larger bottle (half a pint I think) which some years after I left school was stopped completely. I was unaware that children still received free milk to day, albeit only at nursery school. It must be remembered why free milk was initially introduced, to provide working class children with nourishment to beat rickets and other, what were common in those days, medical conditions, Those medical problems have, in the main, been eradicated and the need to provide free milk no longer exists. There may well be a need for subsidised milk for those at the lower end of the poverty levels but I am sure that the majority do not require taxpayers money to feed their children a balanced diet.

Pakistan has enough money to develope a nuclear deterent (and India for that matter) therefore it's about time we stopped dishing out our cash to countries such as these.
