Long overdue. Having to go all the way to Newhaven or Hollingbury for ones golden arches fix is unjust.

Newhaven is also too far for delivery for those of us who don't drive

Indeed. I have no issue with it, but you can guarantee there will be a few in Lewes clutching their pearls at the thought of a McDonalds in their hallowed town.

McDonalds and other drive- throughs should have to print the reg. no. of the car on the packaging. Then, if any socially irresponsible purchaser throws it out a few miles down the road, they can be traced and prosecuted for fly-tipping.

A) That wouldn't stand up. All you'd have to do is say "I bought that for a homeless guy".
B) That wouldn't be worth the effort even if it did stand up.

Yeah. They do. I do as well on the rare occasion I can.
I actually find it appalling how badly Lewes caters to people on a low-income when it comes to eateries.
McDonald's isn't perfect - hell it's morally bankrupt as an organisation - but they're the only people willing to come to Lewes and feed an entire family for an affordable price.
