There was nothing on the Lewes Labour website about celebrating Labour Day. I went down the High Street expecting to find fellow socialists celebrating the event, with perhaps protests against the capitalist system on Cliffe bridge.
It's not often that May 1st falls on a bank holiday monday and I would have thought that there would be a big celebration about the centenary of the Russian revolution in 1917.
