Good one.
What has the court ordered Network Rail to do (or possibly not do)?

Is there some more news?
Last I saw was this: Network Rail plans to remove the gates over the weekend of 24-25 October and store them safely "until a long-term solution has been determined with full consent from the local authority".
The road is to re-open mid November with automatic barriers, with the original gates stored pending the outcome of the negotiations with LDC.

to paraphrase, it says, do not touch or remove otherwise punishable by prison. Valid until 4th November.

Wish someone would slap a court order on LDC over Buckle Car park, Ham rd tip, the Phoenix estate, etc etc

That's only a couple of weeks away. Will NR's appeal have been decided by then?

Not sure how long the appeal process takes. Personally, I'm fairly neutral regarding the gates, however, it is Network Rail's flagrant breach of process, arrogance and lies that has bothered me. I am sure they will find a way of winning the appeal (cosy deal between respective Secretaries of State) but for the moment I am overjoyed.

Where have you seen this news? Has a notice been placed on the gates? The forum has truncated the link I posted. If you go to BBC news and search for "Plumpton" it's the first result, dated 17th October.

Just seen on Twitter, injunction placed on gates. I doubt this crossing will be opened to traffic for a very long time now.

Notice is posted both sides of the crossing. The Network Rail Security Sheriffs are still there. What a thankless task that must be. 24/7 working out of the back of a 4x4.

I heard Network Rail convinced the Unions to not operate gates - sound plausible?

Notwork Rail should pay compensation to LDC for not waiting until the planning permission was finally approved. The money should be used to reduce the Council Tax in Plumpton for a temporary period, to reimburse residents for the current inconvenience.

I fear the euphoria will be shortlived - Network Rail to challenge the Court Order? Maybe it was served too soon.

I wonder what would happen if road users had blocked the railway? Fairly certain there would have been a very quick response from Network Rail!!!

It is the lies and arrogance of Network Rail right up through the management chain that is hardest to swallow.
